Teaching Series: The Whole Story

Overview

This nine-lesson teaching series is designed to explain the big story of the entire Bible to elementary-aged children.

Audience and Length

These lessons were written to be used at our Wednesday night children's program. These lessons would also be suitable for a Sunday School or Wednesday night class. Each lesson is about 20 minutes long.

Lesson Design

For each lesson, there is a lesson and a presentation file. The lessons are written in script format and are designed to be read by a teacher while the presentation file is displayed on a TV/projector in the front of the teaching area. You can advance these slides using an inexpensive presentation remote (link here), or print an extra copy of the lesson for a volunteer, who can sit by the computer, follow along with the script, and advance the presentation slides for you.

It's my pleasure to make these resources to use for your church free of charge. I simply ask that you don't re-host or publicly share these files anywhere else online. Any questions, feel free to contact me.

Teaching Files

For each session, there is a lesson and a presentation file. The lessons are easy-to-print PDFs. The presentation files are available in three different formats:

PPT – for Microsoft PowerPoint

ODP - for LibreOffice (a free and very capable alternative to PowerPoint)

Each lesson features symbols to guide you as you teach.

Lesson Symbols Guide:

➡️ Arrow – Your cue to advance the presentation file as you teach.

❓ Question – A quick discussion question for everybody to answer. The kids can turn to a neighbor and quickly & quietly speak their response. In our Wednesday night program, we sit in small groups and the kids speak their answers to their adult small group leader. Note: many of these questions may be skipped for the sake of time.

⭐ Star – Some sort of instruction to the teacher.
