Super VBS was written by the staff and volunteers of North Park Baptist Church. It's our pleasure to make these resources to use for your church free of charge. We simply ask that you don't re-host or publically share these files anywhere else online.

The theme verse for Super VBS is...

Acts 1:8, NIV

But you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit comes on you;

and you will be my witnesses in

Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,

and to the ends of the Earth.

The main lesson time for Super VBS is called "Hero HQ." Each of these 20-minute teaching times are designed to teach the kids a  super truth about the Ultimate Superhero, how he saved the world and how we can be part of his team.

For each session, there is a lesson and a presentation file. Each lesson is written for two characters: the Teacher and Incredi-Bill. The Teacher serves as the primary Bible teacher, guiding the lesson, reading Scripture, explaining the day’s Super Truth, interacting with the children, and advancing the presentation. Incredi-Bill is an enthusiastic but misguided would-be superhero who interrupts the lesson with jokes, demonstrations, questions, and exaggerated claims about his abilities. His mistakes and questions give the Teacher opportunities to explain the lesson’s biblical truths in a memorable and engaging way.

The Teacher’s dialogue appears as the regular lesson text. Incredi-Bill’s dialogue is shown in highlighted yellow boxes so the two volunteers can easily identify their lines. Throughout the lesson, symbols are included to cue the teacher.

❓ Question Emoji – A quick discussion question for everybody to answer. The kids can turn to a neighbor and quickly & quietly speak their response. In our Wednesday night program, we sit in small groups and the kids speak their answers to their adult small group leader. Note: many of these questions may be skipped for the sake of time.

⭐ Star Emoji – Some sort of instruction to the teacher.

👋 Waving Hands Emoji – A motion to do with the kids.
